I am a licensed Doctor of Physiotherapy experienced in providing patients with a welcoming and comfortable environment for treating all types of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular pains, aches, and injuries. In 2021, I opened St Pete Dry Needling, a small, private clinical practice offering highly specialized manual treatments and modalities in sunny St Petersburg. As a private-pay practice there are none of the negative confinements associated with accepting insurance or requiring referrals. Come when you want, how often you want, and for whatever you need - no one knows your body better than you.
Read on to find out how I can help you get moving again.

ABOUT DRY NEEDLING

Integrative dry needling is not acupuncture (traditional Chinese medicine), it is based on neuro-anatomy and modern scientific study of the musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems. A very fine filament needle is inserted through the skin and into the deeper tissues that are considered trigger points to your pain. Dry needling works by causing a micro lesion within the pathological tissue thus breaking up shortened tissues, inhibiting a reflex arc from the nervous system to the tissue, normalizing the inflammatory response, and centrally mediating the pain. This mechanical and neuromuscular effect provides an environment that enhances the body’s ability to heal which ultimately reduces pain.

My goal is to restore your mobility, keep you moving, and ensure your rehabilitation is effective, efficient, and stress-free. Since I opened St Pete Dry Needling in 2021, I have offered the highest standards of treatment and patient care and am committed to my clients health and long-term wellness. NEUROLOGIC DRY NEEDLING

Neurologic dry needling is the evolution from needling points (myofascial trigger points) to needling the system. Neurologic dry needling can be used to treat all types of neuromusculoskeletal conditions.  These conditions are not limited to orthopedics but are applicable to any condition where inflammation (neurogenic), reduced blood flow and muscle guarding is present.  The Neurologic Dry Needling system is based on peripheral and central neurologic principles so it is not limited by the traditional trigger point paradigm.  Using peripheral nerve mapping model allows a broader opportunity to deliver treatment locally, segmentally, and most importantly systemically.

MYOFASCIAL TRIGGER POINT DRY NEEDLING

Trigger-point dry needling is an invasive procedure where a fine needle or acupuncture needle is inserted into the skin and muscle. It is aimed at myofascial trigger points (MTrP) which are hyperirritable spots in skeletal muscle that are associated with a hypersensitive palpable nodule in a taut band. Trigger point dry needling can be carried out at superficial or deep tissue level.

GRASTON

Graston Technique® (GT) Therapy is an evidence-based form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) that allows for precise detection and treatment of fascial restrictions as well as muscle and tendon dysfunction. Following the kinetic chain, GT Therapy Providers can target and specifically treat affected tissues often resolving issues once thought to be permanent utilizing specifically designed instruments.

KINESIOTAPING

The Kinesio Taping® Method is a therapeutic taping technique which alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This lifting affect forms convolutions in the skin increasing interstitial space and allowing for decreased inflammation in affected areas. Based upon research and years of clinical use, The Kinesio® Taping Method specifically applies Kinesio tape based on evaluation and assessment to dictate a specific application. Kinesio® Tex Tape applications can be applied in hundreds of ways and have the ability to reduce pain and inflammation, promote post-surgical healing, optimize performance, prevent injury and promote good circulation and can assist the body’s natural healing process.

ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE

Active Release Techniques (ART) is a non-invasive treatment system precisely engineered to locate and quickly resolve soft-tissue disorders.
